Thanksgiving 2013

We always have a lot to be thankful for this year.  TYLER, this year we are especially thankful for your arrival and that you are such a wonderful little baby!  EVAN, we are thankful that you are such a happy, energetic, smart little boy.  You've entered the million questions and "why" phase and keep us on our toes with the fun conversations you have with us.  A recent conversation:

Evan: Mom, what's a clock?
Me: It tells time.
Evan: Mom, what's time?
Me: It's time to take a nap.
Evan: MOM, WHAT'S TIME?!?!
Me: Time is how we plan our day and it's given in minutes and hours.
Evan: Mom, what are we doing today?
Me: It's a "stay at home day" today and we are going to play in the basement and go outside in the snow.
Evan: Mom, what's snow?
Me: Snow is frozen rain and it comes down as white flakes.
Evan: Mom, why is it white? Why is it cold? Can I play in it?

....and the conversation continued.  I think we ended on "why does a truck have big tires" to give you an idea of how these conversations go.  Sometimes he really does stump me with his questions though!

When I asked Evan what he was thankful for this year, he said:
- Chocolate milk
- Water
- Yogurt
- Chicken nuggets
- Santa
- Candy canes

Quite the random list!  Ah, to be inside the head of a 3 year old.  It fascinates me every day!

The baby/toddler days are some of the longest, yet shortest days of our life.  It's easiest to capture the days in pictures, mainly so I can remember them all!  :)

Evan & Tyler playing with puzzles

Tyler & Madelyn.  You can see how fast he moves in that bouncy from the fuzzy pic!

First dentist appointment!  Green Bear came along.  Evan did great at the appointment, but has 2 cavities!  :(  I swear we brush his teeth every night.  The dentist said he has some deep back teeth so it's not the fault of bad parenting.

Typical Evan, trying to tell the dentist how to do their job.  "My teeth are here.  These are the ones that need to be cleaned."

Our smiley baby on his 1st Thanksgiving

Evan helped his Great Aunts & Grandma make Christmas decorations for his Great Great Grandma.  He took the little "popcorn" pieces and delivered them in his dump truck.  So creative!

Working hard (he does that with his tounge when he's working or deep in thought).

Tyler LOVES this bouncy chair.  He really gets moving in it!  This is how he burned off his Thanksgiving feast!

Christina & Greg were in town for Thanksgiving and spent some time with the boys.  This was the first time they met Tyler!

Evan & Uncle Greg built this awesome block tower.  I love this action shot of Evan pushing his dump truck through it!

Tyler, meet Nia.

Evan and his favorite buddy, Uncle Greg, building blocks

We miss you Nia & Greg!  Thanks for adding us to your list of stops while you're in town!
