Winter Adventures (Jan & Feb. 2015)

Spring is already here so I need to update the blog with everything we were busy with this winter.   Michigan winters are brutal but we still had lots of fun!

Sledding selfie!  Tyler loved sledding.  He loves just being outdoors, even when he is bundled up like the kid in A Christmas Story.

Evan, aka Speed Racer, flying down the sledding hill (Yes, I make him wear a helmet!)

Our sweet boys (I did buy Tyler a helmet, I swear!)

Cutest little snowman!

OK Tyler, don't look at the camera ;)

Taking a break from the cold with a trip to the new Aquarium. Evan loves to help with Madelyn when she's around.  So sweet.

We loved the new Aquarium!  Fun to have another place to go with the kiddos.

Evan knew a lot about the fish and crabs in the 'hands-on' exhibit, thanks to one of his favorite shows, Octonauts.  "Mom, it's a horseshoe crab!"  The lady working the exhibit was shocked he knew that!

Tyler just kept saying "Whoaaa"

Love these three!

The new Aquarium was a lot of fun!  Thanks Aunt Katie & Aunt Kristie for joining us!

More outdoor time, bundled up again!

Such a good big brother helping to pull his brother in the sled

Tyler: "This is the most fun I've ever had!  I can't believe how silly my mom made me dress!'

Indoor fun at the library.  We love our library with the great kids area & toy room.  Evan will curl up on one of the couches with a book, it's so cute.

Celebrating Aunt Kristie's birthday with a lunch date

Cheers!

Lots of pajama days this winter.  Evan invited Tyler to color with him; love their masterpiece.

Tyler's climbing phase has only just begun.....poor dolls in the house must think he's Godzilla!

Yep, another pajama day....entertained with a box!

"Mom, Tyler likes when I push him around the floor!"  Shortly after this, Evan was pulling Tyler by his arms across the floor saying the same thing....boys!

"Do I have something on my face?"

He went into the bathroom, got the stool, and set it up so he could climb up on the chair...already outsmarting me!

I should start a collection of pictures of the boys wrestling....I sense I'll have hundreds of them someday!

Notice how it's Tyler beating up on Evan?!

Play date with our best buddies - Kellan & Gwen

Friday night is Evan's favorite - MOVIE NIGHT!  Which means popcorn, of course.  Although Tyler has his own bowl he insists that Evan's is better.

Only pictures can describe Tyler sometimes.......pants on the head, and a diaper dragging from his diaper....

Tyler LOVES balls, as I've mentioned before.  Took the boys to an indoor play place and I couldn't get him to leave the basketball court.

Adorable.

His little smile/smirk gets me every time!

Special Tyler & Daddy time at open gym

"I'm having so much fun!!"

We spent a lot of time at the Hands on Museum this winter.  Such a great place for the kids!  Thanks Grandma & Grandpa Anderson for the membership!

My little engineer.  Every time we go he finds a different way to construct the water pipes.  I love to just watch his mind work, it's amazing!

Tyler loves the water exhibits and I usually bring an extra change of clothes for him!

Fun times!

Lowe's Build & Grow is such an awesome program and totally free!
Tyler & Madelyn in the front row for story time at a Moms Club event.  Such good students!

Cousins!

Valentine's Day party with my little man

Tyler loves reading with Evan.  Brotherly love, love it!

 Those little hands...too cute....

PARENTS NIGHT(S) OUT!
I know this blog is mainly all about the kiddos, but I do feel the need to document that Erik & I try our hardest to still have a life outside of kid activities and diaper changes!

Moms Club Night Out

My friend Sara from college

Selfie with Katie!

One of the best parties we've EVER been to is with the entire Detroit Tigers team.  Thanks to the Red Robin sponsorship and my work on it over the past 7 years, we've gone to this party two years in a row now.  It's just for the sponsors and the players are super friendly and fun.  Always a great night out for Erik & I!

Rajai Davis #20, Center Fielder

Yes, I'm super short compared to all these baseball players.  Kyle Lobstein (#53, Pitcher, black suit on my left), ate dinner with us last year and remembered us this year.  He started playing ball when he was really little....hmmm.....future for Tyler?!

Motor City Casino Sound Board party room

Just chatting over drinks with Brad Ausmus, Detroit Tigers Manager

Paws!

Chattin' it up with Justin Verlander, #35 Pitcher

Lots of fun Tigers players....you know me, I don't know all their names!  I'm sure I impressed them with my baseball skills at the fast pitch station they had set-up, ha!

Our buddy Justin V. again

Joe Nathan, #36 Pitcher

Erik went to Colorado for guys-only ski trip this year.  Awesome trip and fun time!  Funny how we used to be able to ski these mountains any time, and now it's quite an expensive trip!

Erik, Brian & Kevin - off for their guys trip

Celebrating Brian & Katie's 30th birthdays - dressed like we're going to Vegas but partying it up in Commerce!  :)

Love my mom friends!

More pictures from this winter to come...this is just January & February.  As you can see, life is busy, but FULL of FUN and LOVE.  Making memories and soaking in all the time we have with the boys while they're still little.....these are the best days of our life!  (Sometimes we have to keep telling ourselves that when we are sleep deprived or dealing with whining, crying, and tantrums.....).  ;)  But I wouldn't trade it for anything.
