Back in June, Kristie and I ventured on a road trip with the kiddos (Madelyn, Evan & Tyler's "puzin" as Evan calls her) to see our Aunt Kathleen, Uncle Jim, and cousins Kaitlyn, Courtney and Megan. We loaded up the car, pack & plays, strollers, bags, clothes, diapers, more diapers, another stroller, snacks, and car seats and took off for a 5 hour drive (well, more than that after our stops for diaper changes and meals!).
When traveling with little ones, variety of activities and snacks is key! If someone is crying, pull out a new toy or snack and that's sure to amuse them for 3-4 minutes! Here's our "activity counsel" for the road trip.
You're wondering how Kristie got back there, right? Well, with a few gymnastic moves, she leaped over Madelyn's car seat and tucked herself in right next to Evan's big car seat! Thank goodness she was back there to entertain the 3 kids the whole trip. She kept asking if I wanted her to drive, but little did she know, driving was MUCH easier than entertaining the kids!
Road trip buddies! I cannot believe how much stuff we crammed into my car!
I forgot a blanket for Tyler so here is is snuggling with an outfit in the car; exhausted from playing with all of his toys in the car!
Once we made it to Aunt Kathy's, we had to play outside and stretch our legs. The kids loved the wagon.
2nd cousins - Kaitlyn, Megan & Courtney
And no surprise, Evan LOVED the car. He didn't care it was pink!
Evan and Aunt Kathy playing with that HUGE green ball! It's as tall as Evan!
On day 2, we visited the Kohl's Kid Museum - SO COOL! This is a pretend car wash you could go through. Lots of fun, interactive in and outdoor activities.
A fun kid-sized grocery store
This was a fun exhibit - the kids could see their weight in milk jugs
A busy day calls for a good bath at night - cute bathing puzins!
We enjoyed some music by Kaitlyn for the kids to dance too
Catching some snuggles and kisses with my boys
A trip to see the Fox family isn't complete without play time at Brunswick Zone! Thanks for the perks Uncle Jim! Evan LOVED the car and motorcylce games. Such a boy!
Megan was THE BEST "puzin" and babysitter during our trip. She won all of the kids a toy in the claw game. And of course, she won a "ba" for Tyler!
There were A LOT of tears when we left...Evan DID NOT want to leave his best friend, Megan, and all the fun at Aunt Kathy's house
On the trip home, we stopped for some Mickey D's in Michigan City, IN. I think it's safe to say we aren't allowed back here thanks to Mr. T's epic "blow out" and the fact that we pretty much flooded the entire floor with all the beverages he pulled off the table....
It was a super fun trip, but let's just say we're thankful the Fox Family moved back to the mitten and are only 2 hours away now! It will make our road trip adventures much easier and hopefully we can make more of them!
