Our little ski racer!

We took Evan skiing this past weekend for the first time and he did GREAT!  A big thanks to Uncle Danny who spent his Saturday teaching Evan how to "pizza", use the magic carpet, carry him up the rope tow, chair lift, and Mr. Wiggles.

Of course I captured every single moment of this awesome day with Evan.  THANKS Aunt Katie for running all over the "hill" with your camera!  :)

Evan kept telling us he was a "fast ski racer" and he was the "fastest in the world."  Well Evan, skiing is in your blood!  Maybe Evan will follow in the footsteps of his Great Grandpa Sam (ski patrol), Grandpa Dan (ski instructor), Great Uncle David (ski instructor), Great Uncle Dale (ski instructor) & Uncle Danny (ski instructor & race coach).  Evan, when you're in the Olympics someday, we'll look back on these pictures! :)

Fun fact for Evan: Mommy took your Daddy skiing for his first time a week before we moved to Colorado.  When we lived in Colorado, we had the 5 Mountain Pass and skiied 20-30 days a season for the first 3 years we were there.  Ah, those were the days....  :)

Geared up and ready to ride!  Kids in ski gear is just about the cutest thing ever!

Crusin' down the hill with Mr. Wiggles on his skis (a little thing to help so his ski tips don't fall apart)

Uncle Danny spent most of the afternoon skiing backwards

The Magic Carpet!  It moved at about 0.5 MPH. Soo....Slow....

Evan didn't care how slow it was.  It was super cool to him!  I don't think he stopped smiling the whole day.

Practicing his balance!  The night before we went out, we let Evan scoot around the carpet on his skis and he said "But I don't have anything to balance with."  That kid is so smart!

Perfect position!  A natural!

A proud father moment :)

Love this picture.  See the smile on both of their faces?  Precious!

A first time ski adventure isn't completing without a ride on the chairlift!

Love seeing his teeny tiny skis in between Danny & Erik

Cruisin' with the boys!

Later that day, I zoomed in on this picture and had to take a screen shot of Evan's amazing smile in it.  Such a happy boy!

Skiing is hard work!  Gotta fuel up!

Evan drank the entire cup of hot chocolate in about 2 minutes.

So proud of his little skis that he didn't want to let them out of his sight.

Evan got a little "slap-happy-silly" at the end of the day from all the skiing and lack of nap.  This picture is of him rolling around the lodge floor.  I can't even figure out which is his right vs. left leg here!

And that's a wrap.  When Erik & I saw this picture, we said "Now THAT is Evan."  This picture sums up the whiny side of our little man!

Zzzz....
