The snowiest winter in our lifetime

Is winter over yet?!?!  Evan & Tyler, I hope you NEVER experience a winter like this again!  Detroit and Flint are very close to setting all-time records for total snow in a winter.  The season snowfall record in Detroit is 93.6 inches way back in 1880-1881. So far Detroit has recorded 90.7 inches of snow this winter season, meaning three inches of snow is needed for a new record.  (NOTE (adding this a few months after I originally posted this): we officially had THE SNOWIEST WINTER in Michigan!  We ended up getting the extra 3+ inches.  Now you can both say you lived through the snowiest winter EVER in MI.  Hopefully we never see a winter like that again!)

We are VERY ready for spring & summer.  I have exhausted all indoor activities I can think of and you're bored of playing with snow in a bucket in the house (because it's either too cold out or you would be lost in the snow the second you stepped in it!).

We have kept busy though and I've tried my best to capture some of our winter / indoor fun!

Our little Spartans.  Evan puts on his Spartan shirt and says "Mommy, when I see Daddy, I have to say 'Go Green!'"  It's the equivalent of a salute in this house.  Yes, there's Tyler's tongue again!

Tyler's first experience with finger paints!

An immediate bath after finger painting fun!

Our little Leprechaun

"Hello Southwest Airlines?  I would like 4 tickets to a tropical island please.  This winter is no fun!"

Aunt Katie captured the best video EVER of Tyler playing with his toy.  He bopped himself in the head, poor little buddy!

Roller skating at "Rollers & Strollers" super hero event

This picture is fuzzy because Erik was flying around the rink with Tyler in the stroller.  The last time I went roller skating I won the "walk like an Egyptian" contest.  Pretty sure that was in the late 80's!

Tyler LOVED the music and flashing lights at the roller rink

Evan was star-struck when he saw Spider Man roller skating!

We ventured out for another ski adventure.  I took Evan on one of his "stay home" days and it was great to have the "mountain" to ourselves!  No, I did not ski with Tyler like this.  Thankfully Uncle Danny met us and skiied with Evan.

Evan was flying down the hill on his 2nd ski adventure!  He even went over a small jump!  Fearless!

Evan's new hero, Uncle Danny ("The greatest skiier ever" as Evan says).  We look forward to skiing more next year!

"Yummy toes"

Cutest tongue ever!

Tyler does this often and it's hilarious.  "Who is that?! He sure is handsome.  And look at his funny tongue!"

Jumpin' around while mom cooks dinner

Playing with Grandpa Anderson!  Lucy didn't want to be left out.

A fun project that goes along with the book club book

Tyler is a very CONTENT little baby.  He will sit and dig through his toy basket by himself and be totally entertained.  Such a blessing!

Evan is amazing with his blocks & legos.  He builds the most creative things from space ships, rockets, cars, castles, etc.  I'm so impressed with what he comes up with!  A very detail oriented, imaginative, focused 3.5 year old.  His understanding of the world at such a young age amazes me (and often outsmarts me...for good & bad..!).

The nearby library has a wonderful kid toy room, books, train table, and more.  It's a great outing for a snowy day!  Evan LOVES books.  And he loves to carry around large chapter books.  He really wanted to check this book out from the library so I let him.  He kept asking if we would read him the book with 'all the words."  I prefer the ones with all the pictures.  ;)

Cruisin' in the library.  Kellan had to take a phone call while Evan was driving.

Tyler skipped the rolling over phase (can't roll from back to front) and is going to go straight to crawling.  He will launch himself forward, roll from front to back then scoot to what he wants.

This pretty much sums up life with 2 boys

Evan wanted to make sure Tyler was cozy

LOVE LOVE LOVE this picture.  Evan is an amazing big brother and Tyler ADORES him.  I love watching the two of them grow together every second I'm with them!

Tyler's 6 month pics

We've had the shortest, yet longest days of our life the past 6 months!  Hard to believe our little baby T is already rolling, babbling, sitting, and getting close to being mobile soon.

At Tyler's 6 month appointment he was 16 lbs., 12 oz. (30th percentile for weight) and 27.5 in. long (78th percentile for height).  Tall & skinny!  He only has 1 tooth, with 3 more coming in (a painful process for Tyler...and momma!).

He started some pureed foods a few weeks ago but really hasn't shown much interest unfortunately.  We'll keep trying everyday until he will take real food!  He's spoiled having me home with him 24/7 and is very much a boob man already (aren't all men no matter what phase of life?!).  As I type this, Erik is trying to feed Tyler pureed pears and I hear "This kid HATES food."  Tyler, you're an Anderson boy.  You HAVE to like food!  Your big brother Evan ate an entire box of Mac & Cheese yesterday (don't worry, I mixed some pureed butternut squash in with it so it was healthy!) and already eats 2-3 bowls of cereal each morning.  I'm sure in your teenage years I'll wish you were back to no appetite.

Thanks to Aunt Katie for snapping some wonderful pictures of our happy & handsome little man!

 *LOVE*

"I must have those blocks!"

"Ah!  You caught me!"

"Mmm....love the blocks."

Baby toes & feet are so cute!

Precious!

 Such a sweet boy!!

Of course I had to do a side-by-side of Evan and Tyler at 6 months.  They for sure look alike but also have their differences.  Both are the most handsome, sweet babies ever!  And both got my nose.  Sorry boys!
