Our happy boys

We truly are blessed with two healthy, very happy little boys.  Tyler is 2 months already!  The longest, yet shortest days of our life.  He's only waking once a night now to eat which is AWESOME.  Now if only I could get myself to go to bed at the same time as he does.

Tyler's 2 month stats:
  • 12 lbs., 13 oz.
  • 24 inches.  He's already grown 3 inches since he was born!
  • He is in the 86th percentile for height.

Evan continues to be a crazy, energetic, enthusiastic, tantrum-filled 3 year old.  He really loves his pre-school and it's fun to hear him sing the alphabet at night.  Watching him learn & grow is amazing.  In the latest "conversations with Evan":
  • Erik: "Good night Super Star"
  • Evan: "Dad, I'm not Super Man, I can't fly" (at the same time he made a flying motion with his hand)
  • Erik: "You are my Super Star - you're super strong, fast & smart."
  • Evan: "But I can't fly" (again making the flying hand motion)
  • Erik: "Well maybe Tyler can fly and fly you around."
  • Evan: "Yah, but Tyler needs to grow up first."
Love that kid!

Evan is so helpful :)

Loving the smiles!

Back to serious mode.  "Excuse me, I have a question."

Go Tigers!  Handsome doesn't even describe this beautiful face!!

Tyler LOVES the bath.  He bathes in his little tub next to Evan.  Evan helps me by dumping water on Tyler's feet and covering Tyler in bath toys.

Big belly, full of milk!  His head is getting stronger every day.  He still flops over after a few seconds, but before I know it, he will be running around the house!

He slept with his hand up like this for 30 minutes!

Watching football with Daddy

Fall in Michigan means CIDER MILL!  We're lucky to live so close to a really nice one.  Apples, cider, donuts, and lots of stuff for Evan to do.

Evan loved the big tractor

Potato sack slide!

Tyler is somewhere in there!  I'm sure he's anxious for the day he can face forward and actually see something besides my shirt (which gets covered in drool...).

Huge trampoline at the cider mill

Not sure who had more fun....Daddy or Evan?

Tyler and I got lost in the corn maze and decided to take a "selfie" in case we were never found.  The corn maze was HUGE!  Not ideal for a toddler who runs FAST....

Our best shot at a family pic (my arm wasn't long enough to capture Tyler; just the top of his head.  Sorry T!)

Everyone asks if Evan and Tyler look alike as babies.  Below are some pictures comparing the two, both taken when they were 2 months old.  I see some similarities in the eyes and nose (poor kids got my nose).  Evan had sooo much hair compared to Tyler!  But I think they are definetely their own little person!

Even with their differences, both of their smiles & laughs melt my heart EVERY TIME!

A busy October already

The 24/7 life in our home is a busy one for sure, but we're all happy, healthy, and getting better at managing life with two little ones!  The day is broken up like this for us (with everything revolving around the sacred nap time and Tyler's feedings):

- Part 1 (before nap): wake up/breakfast, getting dressed (or not...), figure out what adventure we could take Evan on to burn off some energy so he will nap, lunch.
- Part 2 (after nap): wake up/snack, get dressed again (or not...pajamas are considered an outfit in our house now), figure out if we have enough time to venture out of the house before Tyler eats and dinner time.
- Part 3 (before bed): dinner, bath, books, bed (which can take anywhere from 10 minutes to 2 hours depending on the night).

The rest of the 24/7 cycle involves Tyler and I and his eating schedule at night.  Luckily he's pretty predictable and eats around 1 and 4 a.m. then goes right back to bed.  I just purchased a video monitor which I LOVE so now I can see if he's truly awake when he moves/talks at night or if he is just dreaming and will put himself back to sleep.

My hands are definetely full with the boys (literally sometimes).  Sometimes Evan asks me to carry things for him or get him something.  If I happen to be carrying Tyler or doing something at the moment I'll usually respond that "I can only do one thing at a time."  Now Evan likes to turn that line on ME.  The other day I asked him to clean-up his toys and he said "Mom, I can only do one thing at a time."  Oh boy....

Evan: "Mom, Tyler is so cute!"

He loves his baby brother!  Everywhere I take the boys, Evan likes to ask people: "Do you want to see my baby?"

Hello Handsome!

My sweet angel

This is how we roll at the grocery store.  Evan doesn't usually sit still in the little car for more than 5-10 minutes so it's a fast trip and I mean business!  I have recently taken out small displays (and people...no joke) at the grocery store with this cart monstrosity.

Evan asks if he can snuggle with Tyler in the morning.  So sweet!

Evan is getting much better at soccer practice.  He listens for about 75% of it now - yah!  This is his favorite activity where he stacks up cones and gets to knock them down with the soccer ball.

Team huddle.  How cute are all these little people!?

Team photo!  Which Evan sat still for (because he got to hold the ball).

Evan said that Tyler was "too little" to be in the big bathtub.

Enjoying the beautiful fall weather we've had.  That's Tyler in the stroller behind Evan.  Evan found a little hole someone had dug and liked to sit in it.  Needless to say we drove home with him pant/shoe-less in the car.

Parents night out!  4th row seats at the Tigers playoff game.  :)

 Amazing seats!

Evan LOVES his pre-school class. His teacher, Miss Sarah, does a great job documenting what Evan does during the day with pictures, notes home, phone calls, etc. As a parent I love it! Evan likes to walk me around his classroom and show me his projects, crafts & pictures. I snapped pics of some of the fun things displayed in his room, see below!

Love Evan's quote on this one.  I've tought him well to keep things clean!

Evan was "Super Star" of the week at school.  So proud!

"I love running because it's exercise."
